Nareeya is from Thailand. She came across the Green MBA program through an internet search one day and after reading through the course descriptions, decided right away that this program was exactly what she wanted. She received a B.A. in International Relations from Thammasat University in Thailand and was working for about a year as an international project coordinator at the Education for Development Foundation. Before enrollment into the Green MBA, Nareeya would never describe herself as “business material” since she had never believed that exploitation of both the environment and society could be totally eliminated from business practices. However, this program indicated that there are methods, in which both practices of business and preservation of the environment can actually be in balance with one another. She is interested in making these socially and environmentally responsible business practices become more distributed among Thai business entities. After graduation, Nareeya will apply her skills to businesses in Thailand through working to promote more environmentally and socially friendly systems. At present, she is translating some of the materials and insights learned in class into Thai and posting them on the internet and has been getting a wide range of responses from the cyber society. In her free time, she likes to read, write, go on walks and attend open seminars. On sunny days, it is not uncommon to see her wandering and getting lost around parks that are nearby her house and maybe in various museums.
